“Well,that was really cool Mr. J,” said Meechie. “Four radio interviews down, and The Morning

Show to go. The DJ’s were really dope, they wanted to know all about me. Did you know that

Mr. Perry is the owner of the radio station?’’ Tell me more Meechie,’’ said Mr. J, Yes’ sir he is and

he’s a black man, Meechie replied. He went on to say, The Wild Child was awesome, Ms. Nikki

was nice and Ms. Launa was very sweet. I told them one day they would be playing MY music,

but the best part was getting to recite my poem and sing one of my favorite songs, ‘‘Stars’’ on the

mic. I wonder how many people heard me?”

“Well, the receptionist said people were calling in and asking where they could find your poem?”

Mr. J said happily. “I was impressed Meechie, you had great eye contact, and a strong delivery.

I believe you gave them your very best.”

“I can’t wait until they meet my friends, Mr. J,” Meechie said glowingly.
