Raised by his grandmother since the age of five, Meechie grew to affectionately refer to her as,

‘’Momma.’’

Momma worked hard to provide for her 10 children and her many grandchildren, 3 of which

included Meechie, his older sister, and brother.

As the youngest in the family, Meechie often used his imagination to entertain himself. Momma

was full of love and she expected the best of Meechie. Momma loved him with all of her heart,

and he loved her very much. She understood that Meechie was a unique,

talented, and gifted type of kid.

‘’Meechie!,” Momma said.

“Ma’am?,” Meechie replied.

“Now make sure you straighten up that room and make your bed,” she said.

‘’Yes Ma’am,’’ Meechie said.
